How To Really Help Us Sell Your Property

  • Tidy up the grounds, porches and garage. Keep lawn trimmed and edged. Make sure that your yard is clean

  • Give a vital first impression while prospective buyers are waiting to enter--scrub the front door.

  • Dress up windows in freshly laundered curtains

  • Keep bathrooms sparkling--bathrooms sell homes.

  • Potential buyers will feel a glowing warmth when you turn on all your lights for an evening inspection. Make sure all light fixtures have working bulbs. Illumination is like a "Welcome" sign.

  • Wash dishes, put away clothes, straighten up newspapers, make beds, clear steps of hazards etc.

  • Keep pets out of the way when showing. (One type of prospect is annoyed while the other type will get their attention diverted).

  • Avoid having too many people present during inspection. The potential buyer will feel like an intruder and will hurry through the house. Do not allow children to tag along on the visitors tour.

  • Consider Home Staging. Your Realtor can provide you with information on this.

Leave showing up to the salesperson. It is their business to sell; they can lead up to basic reactions alone better than with running conversation help. The salesperson knows the buyer's requirements and can best emphasize the features of your home. You will be called if needed.

Don't discuss anything concerning the sale with the customer. Let the Realtor discuss price, terms, possession and other factors with the customer. They are eminently more qualified to bring negotiations to a favourable conclusion.

Never apologize for appearance. It only accents or distracts. Never try to sell furniture to a customer before the deal is complete.
