understanding your responsibilities, procedures and the
various time frames of your purchase.

Provide your Sales Representative
with your choice of solicitor so a copy of your
Agreement of Purchase and Sale and survey, if
available, can be forwarded to them.

Provide any information required
regarding your original purchase of the property, as
well as any mortgage, tax bills, and/or receipts
that may be needed by your solicitor.

Notify your home insurance agent of
the closing date so insurance may be cancelled.

Contact all utility services to
arrange for final readings on the closing date.

Your lawyer will set up an appointment,
at your convenience, two to three days prior to the
closing date to go over the transaction. You will be
asked to bring a set of keys to provide the purchaser
upon closing. All other keys will be left in the
premises, usually on the counter. Your lawyer will also
review with you the details of the sale and advise on
the financials.
On the day of closing you can expect to
contact your lawyer to be advised on the status of the
transaction and be advised when you can pick up your
cheque for the proceeds of the sale together with the
supporting documentation.
